Chronicle III
“Decision Time”
Today, we look forward to the badly needed long-term support to carry us across the “open ground” to some sort of safety.
Currently the opening on 29thJune, has not shown good results for most of those who took the chance to venture into “no man’s land”.
Some have done well however in dubious manners, breaking the line on agreed rules for opening, typical eh! For those who are currently struggling with having opened the fear is that they will be left out there and the support will not come in the types of help that are needed.
They would also be concerned that their industry colleagues may not open on August 10thand that this would further dilute the industry getting the punter back in sustainable numbers i.e. the more Pubs, Restaurants and Hotels that manage to open then the quicker the punter will feel “things are getting better”.
For those who have not opened yet and have done their figures for what they will need to survive, then today is a big day.
Definite timelines of how each type of support will last will be needed as there will be no point in opening if the basic support of TWSS is left under constant review leaving the businesses wondering when will the “covering fire”end and leave them exposed to the “full blast”of what’s left or God forbid a second wave.
So, time now for the Generals to make the “RIGHT DECISIONS”and no miscommunication can be afforded on this front line!
